Ellesmere Port & Neston Police News Bulletin
18 to 31 October 2021  
 
If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
 
Burglary
Incidents reported relating to RESIDENTIAL property:

ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Ledsham and Manor
  • Wetherby Way – Ring doorbell activated during the early hours of the morning.  No entry gained to property as offender possibly disturbed by barking dog.
  • Penistone Drive - Entry gained via unknown means. Disturbed by dog.  Nothing taken.
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Consol Drive – Ring doorbell shows male approach front door and try door handle.  No entry gained. - * possibly same offender due to timeframe/proximity of location.
  • Waterworks Lane – Entry gained into property via insecure conservatory door.  IPhone and purse taken.  Shed also entered and cordless impact wrench taken. - * possibly same offender due to timeframe/proximity of location.
  • Heath Lane – Small dark coloured vehicle driven onto driveway during the early hours of the morning.  Unknown male walked to back doors and shone a torch through the window. -  No entry gained.
    • Other residents report:
    • finding the gates to their property open
    • being contacted via intercom system and told there had been an RTC
    • hearing male voices outside their property
  • St. Pauls
  • Wings Court – Access gained to rear of property and damage caused to bi-fold windows.  No entry gained.
Incidents reported relating to BUSINESS premises:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Rossmore
  • Bridges Road – Entry forced into container, on old concrete plant and whacker plate and jet wash taken.
  • ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Hadlow Road – Access gained to rear yard of ‘Station House’.  Door to out building found open.  Ladder found against wall and chair found on platform indicating how offender/s have entered/left the yard.
  • St. Pauls
  • Chester Road – Rear of ‘Ellesmere Port Golf Club’ accessed and rocks used in an unsuccessful attempt to smash the two large windows of the bar area, causing damage.
  • Grange
  • Pooltown Road – Three youths climb over boundary fencing into grounds of ‘Acorn Primary School’. Unsuccessful attempt made to enter building.  Property taken out of storage shed and damaged and graffiti written onto garage door.
Incidents reported relating to OUTBUILDINGS/GARDENS:

ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Roften Way – Two reports received during the timeframe of this bulletin:
    • Padlock to garden gate cut off to gain access to rear of property. Entry gained into shed but nothing believed taken at this time. - * possibly same offender due to timeframe/proximity of location.
    • Lock cut off shed door and bike taken.  No further details of bike.
  • Hooton Road / Railway Cottages – Shed entered by unknown means. Nothing believed taken.
Criminal Damage
Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Arundel Court – Window smashed.
  • Caernarvon Court – Several bins removed from the flats and set alight on the grassed area of Bunbury Green.
  • Warwick Court – Eggs thrown at property and garden wall damaged by group of youths.
  • Braemar Court – Kitchen window smashed.
  • Rhuddlan Court – Damage caused on two consecutive nights. – Named suspect.
  • Kitchen window smashed.
  • Living room window smashed.
  • Stoke Gardens – Damaged caused on two separate occasions during the timeframe of this bulletin.
  • Window to front of property smashed.
  • Rock thrown at window by group of youths.
  • Whitby
  • Thamesdale – Damage caused to front door of property by teenagers, within a group, who were kicking at the door.
  • Rossmore
  • Monks Grove – Upper floor bedroom window damaged leaving small hole in glass. – Ball bearing type object used believed to have been fired from old train tracks to rear of property.
  • Abbots Mews – Window cracked. - Ball bearing type object used believed to have been fired from old train tracks to rear of property.
  • Portside North – Derelict port-a-cabin, on the site of ‘Carlton Fuels’ set alight.
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Neston
  • The Cross – Window smashed at ‘The Brown Horse’ public house. – Named suspect.
  • Parkgate
  • Earle Drive – Contents of skip on driveway set alight.  Offender then accessed rear of garden and set light to the compost heap at the bottom of the neighbouring garden on Leighton Road causing damage to posts and surrounding trees and plants.
  • Station Road – Paving slab used to smash window in the clubhouse of ‘Neston Cricket Club’.
  • Netherpool
  • Gateacre Court – Brick thrown through window.
  • St. Pauls
  • Fairways Drive – Pumpkin thrown at lounge window causing outer pane to smash.
  • Mill Lane – A number of bins taken from residential properties set alight.
  • Sutton
  • Charter Crescent – Fencing to rear of property, overlooking park set alight.
  • Grange
  • Kensington Road – Ground floor window smashed.
Theft
Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Whitby Road – Whilst attempting to steal post from damage caused to post box.
  • Flatt Lane – White ‘Cross’ bike, secured outside Ellesmere Port and District Social Club taken.
  • Beaumaris Drive – Group of youths take all the bins from the rear of the bungalows.
  • Rossmore
  • Lydden Road – Parcel taken from doorstep.
  • ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Parkgate
  • Earle Drive – Royal Mail post box broken into and mail taken on numerous occasions during the timeframe of this bulletin.
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Pillbox Close – During early hours of the morning, unknown male entered rear of property and took a blue Voodoo bike.
  • Chester Road – Two fire extinguishers taken from the forecourt of ‘Thornton Garage’.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Cheshire Oaks – Group of youths being abusive towards staff at Piaggio ‘Dog Bakery’ van whilst stealing bags of popcorn. – Occurred again on consecutive day.
  • Denbigh Court – VW Golf has both the front and rear registration plates, showing YN58 NUJ taken.
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Parkgate
  • Brooklands Road – Vauxhall Corsa has rear registration plate, showing WN56 XCZ taken.
  • Grange
  • Columbia Road – Jeep Renegade has front registration plate showing, MT70 URL taken. – May have been taken whilst in Manchester but discovered once home.
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Coliseum Way – Two reports of damage to vehicles during the timeframe of this bulletin.
  • Mazda MX-5, whilst being driven near to pedestrian crossing damaged by a rock thrown by a young male.  Scratches caused to the boot area.
  • Vauxhall hit by unknown object, thrown by group of youths damaged to the rear nearside passenger door.
  • Shrewsbury Road – Whilst parked in car park, CWaC CCTV vehicle, Peugeot 208 suffers considerable damage, including smashed windows, denting to numerous body panels and internal systems.
  • Rossmore
  • M53 (J9/10) – Rock hits windscreen of VW Polo as it was being driven along motorway causing damage.
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • St. Pauls
  • Woodchurch Lane – Vauxhall Corsa set alight after cardboard stuck into the engine compartment via the windscreen blade area.
  • Waverton Road – Vauxhall Combo found with denting to the bottom part of the driver door.
  • Grange
  • Barnston Avenue – Ford Focus set alight after cardboard stuck into the engine compartment via the windscreen blade area.
