Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Residents are reminded to review security around gardens and outbuildings following a report of the theft of a hosepipe from the garden of an elderly resident in Little Neston .

To help prevent crime , always put tools etc. away when you are not using them .
Most thefts are committed by opportunists , so try not to tempt them by leaving your items unattended .
Invest in good quality locks for sheds and bikes .
Hanging baskets and garden furniture can be secured using plastic ties from DIY shops .
Security lights and CCTV cameras also help to deter thefts .
Set up a Neighbourhood Watch with your neighbours to help keep you safe .
