Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good morning all,

As you will all be aware, the country is about to start opening back up as restrictions are gradually lifted over the coming weeks. With this will likely come a shift in crime and potentially a spike a burglaries as people return to work. As always, remember to lock doors/windows -Burglars are lazy, make it difficult for them-
Car thefts are still the most common form of burglary locally, with entry gained purely to find the car keys.

The male defrauding the elderly in car parks by taking money for fuel has been caught and is currently going through our system.

A large number of shed break ins at allotments sites in Wilmslow/ Alderely Edge were committed last week, however the Wilmslow East Allotments are unaffected. Nothing appears to have been stolen from these sheds.

A man was stopped on the Fletsand Road area after setting off an intruder alarm. Despite no crimes were committed as he did manage to gain entry, we suspect he was trying to enter an empty property. Please keep an eye out for your neighbours if they are away and invest in some timers for lights to give the appearance that someone is home.

Our local Beat Officer PC Chris Mullin went for a little jog chasing a shoplifter for 20+ minutes (in full kit and giving constant location updates over radio) through fields and across roads before other officers were able to get hold of him.

Hopefully in person surgeries at Wilmslow Library can restart soon, until then you can contact me on either Twitter or facebook, just search Wilmslow East police.

Kind regards,

PCSO Hails
