recent spate of Burglaries

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Hello there again,
Thank you for taking the time to read and, even if you only check what we are asking, you could help reduce the chance of being a victim of crime.

Over the recent months we have seen a rise in Burglaries either in the dwelling or in a shed or garage. These have occurred in the Halebank area - Clapgate Crescent and Lovel Terrace where we had four - mostly pedal bikes having been stolen.

Within the last couple of days we have had five in Hale Village occurring in Malin Cl, Vicarage Cl, two on Hale Road heading toward the Speke area and one on Halegate Road.  These incidents have resulted in patio doors being smashed to gain entry to the property, Pedal Bikes and other items being taken along with, quite distressingly, Christmas presents.
Added to the above we had a Theft from a Motor Vehicle in Hale Village and report of three suspicious persons in a garden on Halegate Road.  It is likely all of the Hale Village incidents are the same suspects, possibly three males. Seperately the Halebank incidents were also possibly committed by the same offender/s.

Detectives are working hard to follow up enquiries in relation to all of these incidents and bring offenders to justice. We are thankful to those victims and their neighbours that assisted with either CCTV and or witness statements but, if you live in either of the above areas please can you check any cctv you may have, including Dashcams and the "cctv" type of doorbell. If you find anything you think may help do make contact in any preferred method and we will arrange to visit and deal.

Finally - a few checks as requested in relation to Home Security
Is access to the garden restricted with a fence or gate?
Are fences difficult to climb or get through?
Is there outside lighting to deter trespassers?
Are sheds and outbuildings secured?
Are tools and ladders secured from would-be burglars?
Are house and car keys kept out of sight?
Do you have an alarm? Is it always used?
Are lights left on when you go out?
Are valuables kept out of sight of windows?
Is your property identifiable?
Consider home and garden CCTV and / or the doorbell type

Should you have any issues whatsoever with any aspect of the information or want to talk about police related issues on this policing area (Ditton and Hale) please just make contact.

Finally, thank you to the residents who reported suspicious characters. If you see or hear anything you feel "just isn't right" or cannot be reasonably explained please call us and let us check the area. Call 999 if this is the sighting os suspicious persons etc!
Thank you for reading so far!
We want to pass on our best wishes to you and those you love - especially during these strange times. Do look out for each other and try and have yourself a relaxing, peaceful and safe Christmas.
