Resurfacing works will begin on Griffiths Road, Lostock Gralam on Friday this week.
Cheshire West and Chester Council is carrying out resurfacing works from the TATA entrance to the Middlewich Road/Penny’s Lane junction. The scheme will need a full road closure but will be carried out at night between 7pm and 6am to reduce disruption as much as possible.
Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Strategic Transport Councillor Karen Shore said: “These works are part of our Highways capital improvement programme and could change if we experience bad weather. Signed diversions and illuminated ‘Visual Message Signs’ will be in place which will be revised as needed to keep motorists fully informed.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works and our Highways teams are doing all they can to reduce the impact for motorists.”

Outside of these working hours, the road will be re-opened. On the evenings when the new surface is being laid it will not be possible for any vehicle to access the road from the Middlewich Road end.
- Friday 13 September – Start of works
- Saturday 14 / Sunday 15 September - No works
- Monday 16 - Thursday 19 September – Works continue
- Friday 20 September - No works
- Saturday 21 September - Works continue
- Sunday 22 / Monday 23 September - No works
- Tuesday 24 / Wednesday 25 September – Lay new surfacing materials
- Thursday 26 September - New road markings
Further planned works in the area include a new pedestrian crossing, resurfacing and street lighting on King Street.
