Council Foster Carer recruitment service release winter recruitment campaign advert and competition to find Cheshire’s most welcoming front door.

Foster4, Cheshire East; Cheshire West and Chester; Halton and Warrington Council’s regional foster carer recruitment service has today released a heart-warming new advert. It’s part of their ‘Could you open your door?’ campaign to inspire local people to open their doors and become a foster carers for local children.  To encourage residents and organisations to engage with the campaign, the service has also launched a competition to find Cheshire’s most welcoming front door. The competition will see one lucky winner receiving the prestigious accolade and also receiving a £500 B&Q voucher, donated by local organisation, Weee Charity.

The competition will be open for entries from Monday 18 November 2019 until Friday 3 January 2020. The winner will be decided by a panel of children in care and announced on Tuesday 7 January 2020.

Emma Taylor, Director of Children’s services at Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “The competition is a creative way of highlighting the Foster4 service and encouraging people to engage with our winter campaign.

“When children arrive at the front door of a new home it can be a difficult time for them but all our foster carers do an amazing job welcoming children into their homes and helping them settle. This campaign is all about children in care receiving a positive welcome when they arrive at a foster carer’s home and highlighting that we need even more people to open their doors and become foster carers for their local authority.

“I would urge both residents and businesses in our area to enter the competition and share Foster4’s messages with their friends, family and customers.”

Residents and businesses living or based in the four Cheshire local authorities- Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton and Warrington are encouraged to get involved by uploading photos of their front doors to the Foster4 Facebook page or via Instagram using #welcomingfrontdoorsofcheshire.
