Weather Warning - Drive Safe

Alert message sent 08/02/2021 08:22:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Today will be bitterly cold with snowy showers, drive for essential travel only.

Useful tips.

Accelerate Gently, use low revs and change to a higher gear as quickly as possible.
Move off in second gear as this will help reduce wheel spin.
Get your speed right and maintain safe stopping distances.
Use low gear for going down hill.
When approaching a bend, brake before you actually start to turn the steering wheel.
If you encounter skidding, steer gently into it - for example, if the rear of the car is sliding to the right , steer to the right.
When driving in heavy snow, make sure that you use your dipped headlights .
If visibility drops below 100m, put your fog lights on.

Stay Safe
