Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good morning,

I have continued discussions with the BHS this month around road safety. We are looking at some joint operations / initiatives for when COVID allows us do this safely and effectively. I will of course keep you updated. You may see from my social media posts that I have been encouraging horse riders to wear some form of hi visibility clothing, I did touch on it on my last alert but this is so important for off road riding too, If an accident was to happen it could be that one piece of hi vis that allows the emergency services to find you. I am still seeing many riders not wearing any whilst out hacking, its also worth checking your insurance as there have been cases where people were not covered due to not wearing any.

A few incidents of note...Over the county we have seen caravans stolen from farms where caravan storage is offered, Please check your security and make it as tight as possible. If you struggle for electric or Internet signal wildlife cameras are a good option for CCTV.

We are getting reports of people lamping, If you spot any activity in your fields please report it, even if they have left the area as this helps us to build intelligence as to where to dedicate our patrol plans.

As always let me know if you have any information you would like members to be aware of, you can contact me via horsewatch@cheshire.pnn.police.uk for any help or advice.

Please report any incidents via 101 or on the Cheshire Police website.

Thank you

Nicola
