some crime and suspicious behaviour trends

Alert message sent 25/09/2020 14:26:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon.
I hope you are all as well as can be in these strange times.  I thought i should make you aware of the below so as to hopefully raise awareness and vigilance.

Earlier on this month we had a van stolen from Town Lane, Hale Village and again, only a few doors away from the first, we had a second van taken just 22nd into 23rd September 2020. Both vehicles were company works or trades vehicles.  Please be extra careful to lock and ideally alarm your vehicles and, if possible, try and keep any more vulnerable vehicles blocked in by any others you may own or keep them behind locked gates etc.

We had a spate of suspicious activity last week - in the early hours, possibly three males seen prowling - trying car and other doors looking for opportunities to burgle or steal items. The area targetted seemed to be the section Hale bank Road - Higher Road, Lower Road to Hale Gate Road in Halebank.  CCTV has helped a little in one of these situations.  Please, if you see or hear anything suspicious, especially during the hours of darkness, call the police immediately. If you believe the activity could potentially be prowlers please use the 999 system and we can get Police Officers deployed to the scene as quickly as possible.

We don't want you to be unduly alarmed as we believe the persons/s are potentially opportunists but if you can possibly increase your home and vehicle security you can and do make a big difference to the outcomes.

If you want any crime reduction advice please do make contact with me by any means you can. We are out and about at PCSO surgeries each week, we are on social media (Ditton & Hale Police (Facebook) and DittonHalePol (Twitter) and you can email me or look on the main police website for other ways. www.cheshire.police.uk
