Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good afternoon,

Please be aware that two incidents have been reported to us involving curtain sides on heavy goods vehicles being cut open. The first incident occurred on the 19th August on Pochin Way, Middlewich between 21:00-07:00 and items from inside the vehicle were taken.

The second incident occurred on the 20th August on the M6 Southbound in Barthomley between 00:00-01:30. Items were also taken from this vehicle once the curtain had been cut. Whilst this is in Staffordshire it is on the border for Cheshire and it is likely the offenders would travel into our area to attempt to commit offences here.

We are sending you this message to make you aware, so that you can be vigilant when parking up or transporting goods. Always make sure you are stopping at a location that is a safe and reliable spot, where other people can see you. Report anything suspicious to us on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800555111. If you see a crime being committed then always call us on 999.

Kind Regards,
Cheshire Constabulary
