Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good morning,

I hope you are all well and staying inside and staying safe. These are very strange times that we are currently experiencing and due to this we are seeing a change in crime patterns across Cheshire, please do not be alarmed by this. This is a small amount of inside knowledge, with this in mind please digest the below information and take any action possible to try and prevent any type crime.  The information below isn't difficult to do or requires any great expense as such just simple crime prevention advice to help in the current climate.

Making sure sheds are secure after their gardening, looking at engraving garden implements, making an inventory of items of value in their shed (people aren’t always aware of the value of what they have put in their shed, gardening and sports equipment mounts up quickly)

Keeping their doors and gates locked while they are at home to reduce  sneak in burglaries

Keeping wallets and handbags in a secure location while they are not being regularly used

Not withdrawing cash in panic and then storing it at home, the banks are fine and most places are moving towards being cashless to reduce spreading germs

Making sure there is nothing on show in their vehicles and that vehicles are locked – no cash in front pockets or old coats on the back seats

Making sure keys are stored securely (metal boxes or faraday bags) to reduce the theft from keyless cars.

Stay safe and stay inside.......

Many thanks

PCSO 20604 Darroch
