TV Licensing Scam

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary


Residents are reminded to be extra vigilant following information regarding a scam email claiming to be from TV Licensing Online .

An online message is sent , informing you that your TV licence is about to expire and that your bank has declined the direct debit payment . There is a link in the email to set up and make a direct debit payment .
Expiry dates quoted may be in US date format e.g. 11/15/2019 for 15th November 2019 , also some of the spellings may be in US format .

Fraudsters have scammed people out of hundreds of thousands of pounds by getting them to click on the suggested links - make sure you're not one of them .
