October 2019

Crime update –
On 4th October at 6am we received a call for theft from motor vehicle, whereby offenders have removed the numbers plates from a white Ford Fiesta on Marina Village.
On 8th October at 11am a male was arrested at Portsmouth Place, Murdishaw after being stopped by a plain clothes officer with a quantity of drugs and an offensive weapon.

Suspicious activity –
On 2nd October at 11pm we received a call of a male hanging around, drinking alcohol on the canal bridge on Marina Lane described as a white male, aged 25-30 blue hoody, jeans. An area search was made but the male was not located.

Op Scrambler update – A week of action was completed in October re- Op Scrambler whereby images were circulated on social media of offenders. Thanks to public identification we were able to seize one of the bikes involved and 16x S59 warning notices were issued to riders. A stolen motorbike was also recovered from Granary Mill, Preston Brook on Wed 23rd October.

Roads Policing –
Tru-Cam speed enforcement has taken place on Norton Station Road and Tower Lane throughout October.

Schools/young people –
On Monday 7th October I attended Gorsewood Primary school to deliver a ‘STOP THE DROP’ school talk to the year 6 pupils as part of Op Hopper which has been created to reduce the number of incidents re- damage to local buses.
