Alert message sent 20/02/2019 15:16:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Residents are again reminded not to buy goods or services at the door .
Today , 20/02/19 , we have received numerous reports of males calling door to door attempting to sell household goods such as dusters and tea-towels .
Many of these goods are over-priced e.g. £9.99 for a pack of 3 microfibre cloths .

3 of the males were stop-checked in Ness and also Little Neston and had their goods seized by a PC and a PCSO.
None had official Peddlar's Licences and 1 had no I.D. either .

Calls were also received from Parkgate and Burton , where the sellers had been verbally abusive to residents and one particularly unpleasant incident where an elderly resident was spat at .

Please continue to report these incidents to us and we will do our best to locate the individuals and deal with them accordingly .
