Ellesmere Port & Neston Police News Bulletin
10th to 15th February 2019
  
If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
 
Burglary
Incidents reported relating to RESIDENTIAL property:
 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Grange
  • Princes Road – 2 separate reports received:
    • During the early hours of the morning a resident alerted by sound of window alarm and upon looking outside noticed the gate to the property was open.  Upon checking the property it appears that the rear door lock may have been tampered with in an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry.
    • Property entered via an insecure side door into kitchen. Red puffa jacket removed from bottom of stairs, keys and Samsung Galaxy mobile phone also taken after being disconnected from its charger.
Criminal Damage
Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Langley Court – Outer pane of glass in window cracked with stone.
  • Civic Way – 4 unknown youths kick the door to the bike sheds to the rear of the council building causing damage.
  • Bamburgh Court – Brick thrown at address by group of youths causing window to smash.
  • Bunbury Green – Push bike, no further details, left outside ‘Posh Nosh’ trampled by drunken female causing damage to bike frame.
  • Coronation Road – Recycling box set alight in the alleyway between Green Lane and Coronation Road. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Netherpool
  • Rivacre Road – Gravestone in ‘Overpool Cemetery’ sprayed with black spray paint.
  • St. Pauls
  • Parklands – Glass in window of ground floor front door damaged by unknown means.
  • Chester Road – Male in ‘Olde Red Lion’ Public House has damaged cigarette bin and pulled a frame off the wall in the gents toilets.
  • Sutton
  • Randle Meadow – Glass in front door shattered after an unknown object has been thrown at the door.
  • Bridge Meadow – Outer pane of glass in communal door to flats smashed by youths. 
Theft
Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Holly Road – Black bin and recycling boxes, left out for refuse collection taken. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Netherpool
  • North Road – 2 males in a White Transit van enter ‘Scania’ site and remove 6 used batteries from the rear of the premises.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT OF motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Stanlaw Road – Blue BMW F650 GS, PJ08 UFY secured to rear of residential property is taken after the chain is removed by unknown means. – The vehicle was located abandoned on car park of Asda with damage to the ignition barrel.
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Denhall Lane – Vauxhall Astra, parked in car park has rear nearside window smashed and a purse taken from within.
  • Netherpool
  • Ferguson Avenue – Insecure Ford Mondeo, parked at roadside entered and HP laptop taken. 
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Exeter Road – Nissan Micra has car door kicked by unknown person causing damage to the doors.
  • Civic Way – Kia Picanto, parked on car park damaged after someone has run over the bonnet causing denting to the bonnet. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Grange
  • Aldgate – Vauxhall Astra has front nearside tyre punctured by a male offender, seen crouching down next to the vehicle. – Named suspect.

ELLESMERE PORT WEST
 
Ledsham and Manor

Ledsham Road – Report received from a member of the public that on Saturday 9th February at 11pm they had used the ‘Barclays’ cash machine and their money was not dispensed.  On examining the machine they noted a suspicious aluminium strip appeared to have been glued over the dispensing section.  When this strip was removed the requested cash was found to be stuck to it.
