Ellesmere Port & Neston Police News Bulletin
18th to 25th January 2019
 
If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
 
Burglary
Incidents reported relating to RESIDENTIAL property:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Whitby
  • Sycamore Drive – Unsuccessful attempt to force open ground floor window.  Believed may have been an attempt to access keys for a Mercedes vehicle parked on the driveway.
  • Rossmore
  • Westminster Road – Entry gained into communal area of flats. By unknown means a front door to flat forced open to again entry and property removed.
  • Wilkinson Street – House of multiple occupancy has entry forced into all rooms and untidy searches conducted and items taken. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • West Vale – Property entered through front door by unknown means. 2 handbags taken from within the address, one located outside.  Keys to a silver Honda Accord, MV57 UDP and a Silver Mazda, MJ10 SBY taken along with the vehicle. – A Vauxhall Adam motor vehicle, used by the offenders and stolen earlier in a burglary in Merseyside was found outside the neighbouring property. - The Honda was recovered in Thornton Hough having crashed but at this time the Mazda is still outstanding. 
Incidents reported relating to BUSINESS premises:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Garth Road – During the hours of darkness 2 males have climbed over the boundary fencing into the ‘H W Waste’ site and thrown batteries over the gates, which have then been loaded into a vehicle before they have left the area. – Vehicle has been stopped by police and 2 males arrested. 
Criminal Damage
Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Neston
  • Neston Railway Station – Group of youths witnessed smashing up a shelter at the station.
  • Netherpool
  • Overpool Road – Refrigeration systems on roof of ‘Sandwich Express’ damaged by youths kicking them.
  • Sutton
  • Browning Drive – Glass surround at front door smashed.
  • Grange
  • Aldgate – Glass pane on window in rear door pushed through leaving it loose.
Theft
Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Stanney Mill Lane – Narrow boat under renovations, moored to rear of ‘Lexus’ garage taken by unknown offender/s.
  • Wolverham Road – Bag taken in ‘The Cat’ public House.  Bank cards have then been used at a number of stores. – CCTV shows a male concealing the bag inside his jacket.
  • Whitby
  • Upper Raby Road – 'Dethlefs' caravan taken from garden. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • West Vale – Running machine, stored at the back of a car port taken by unknown offender/s.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT OF motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Whitby
  • Woodbank Road – Kia Sportage entered by unknown means.  Untidy search made within and panel to wiring removed in what is believed to have been an unsuccessful attempt to take the vehicle. - *Possibly linked to the same offenders as the below ‘theft from’ in the Whitby area. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Neston
  • West Vale - A silver Honda Accord, MV57 UDP and a Silver Mazda, MJ10 SBY taken after keys obtained during a burglary. – A Vauxhall Adam motor vehicle, used by the offenders and stolen earlier in a burglary in Merseyside was found outside the neighbouring property. - The Honda was recovered in Thornton Hough having crashed but at this time the Mazda is still outstanding. 
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Denbigh Court – Secure Vauxhall Corsa, parked at rear of address entered by unknown means through the boot area.  Quantity of property taken from within, some of which was recovered further along street. entered via boot
  • Whitby
  • Overpool Road – 3 vehicles entered at 2 separate addresses:
    • Ford Transit, parked on residential driveway entered by unknown means and searched through.  Drill removed but found discarded in hedge.  Keys to a Vauxhall Zafira located in boot and then used to search through this vehicle. An ‘Alien’ VCR video was left on the seat. - *
    • BMW 116 entered by unknown means and loose change taken from within. - *
  • Ambleside Road – 2 vehicles at separate address entered, both by unknown means:
    • Vauxhall Zafira, parked on a residential driveway searched through.  Nothing believed to have been taken at this time. - *
    • Vauxhall Vivaro entered and cash taken. - *
  • *CCTV at premises at the separate locations shows what appear to be the same offenders targeting the vehicles during the early hours of 18th January.
  • Rossmore
  • Broad Birches – 2 vehicles at separate addresses entered: *May be linked to the same offenders as those in Whitby area as they have occurred during the overnight period of 18th January.
    • Vauxhall Zafira entered by unknown means and bag, containing a new pair of trainers and other items taken from within.  These items were located at various points further up the street having been discarded.
    • Audi A1 entered by unknown means.  Glove box searched through and items placed onto front seat.  Mug and Christmas items taken from rear seat. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Netherpool
  • Woodend Road – Male runoff after being disturbed searching through Land Rover Discovery.  Entry gained into the vehicle by unknown means and a blue Northface rucksack was taken from within.  The contents of the bag were found discarded in a field to the rear of the property.
  • Sutton
  • Overpool Road – Ford Kuga entered by unknown means and searched through.  Nothing believed to have been taken. - *May be linked to the same offenders as those in Whitby area as they have occurred during the overnight period of 18th January. 
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Milton Road – 2 vehicles parked in public car park damaged during overnight period.
    • Vauxhall Insignia has both wing mirrors broken off and paint thrown over it.
    • Vauxhall Astra has paint splashed on driver door. – Possibly splashed back from first vehicle being targeted.
  • Whitby
  • Chester Road – Citroën C4, whilst parked outside solicitors has drivers side wing mirror knocked off.
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Neston
  • Ringway – Range Rover Sport damaged over consecutive days. 3 tyres slashed and bleach poured over bonnet in first incident and an unknown substance poured over in the 2nd which has caused damage to the paint work.
  • The Witterings – Range Rover Sport has paint stripper poured over vehicle causing damage to the paintwork.
  • Grange
  • Festival Road – Ford Focus has brick thrown through rear windscreen whilst parked on residential street. – CCTV shows a group of 3 girls causing the damage.
