News Bulletin

Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Halton Castle ward July 2018

HI Folks

Most of us love the fantastic hot weather we are having  but please don’t let the sun go to your heads please make sure you don’t forget to close all your windows and lock  your doors when you leave your property,  its sounds a common sense thing to do but lots of people forget.  This month has seen an increase in burglary dwellings and thefts in the Halton Castle Ward.  Reported incidents have involved cycles being targeted in particular.

Criminals quite often are opportunists and will jump at the chance to seize the opportunity to take advantage of your mistakes so please make it hard for them by remembering theses simply steps.

Incident of note this month, we had reports of males selling fish in the area who were vastly over charging, some of the victims were our Elderly residents from the area.  No one likes crime full-stop but crimes like this hits home as we all have Mums, Dads, and Grandparents  who we want to protect from people like this.  The day after the first report was crimed we used social media to warn other areas of Runcorn to be mindful and keep an eye out for theses Rogue Traders, with the help of a resident   in the Weston area we were able to arrest   3 males .  Enquires will continue as more victims come forward.   I would like to thank all the members of the public I spoke to that day who supplied me with valuable information which lead to theses arrests and for the great team work at Runcorn Police station from all departments

Unfortunately incidents of ant social   behaviour  go up during the school summer holiday and our ward isn’t any different …..So do you know where your child is and what they are doing?  It is a common excuse used “we have nothing to do or nowhere to go”.  There are lots of activities out there some are free to do in the Halton area from football to Archery a comprehensive list of activities can be found by searching   what kids events are on in Halton .

NB:Drugs information can be passed via email below, verbally to myself or other officers.

Or anonymously via crime stoppers  0800555111

Tru-Cam enforcement will be conducted on the ward once a week and we have a set time of 1 hour when enforcing. please drive responsibly to avoid receiving penalties
