Ellesmere Port Market charity donations
11 November 2019Market Carpets at Ellesmere Port Market have been continuing their fund raising for local charities this year. Owners Peter Davies and John Doyle presented cheques on Friday 8 November at the market.
Peter Davies said: “We are donating £225 to Dorin Park school, £250 to Mile stone mums, a hub for new mums who are finding it hard to cope, £100 for the TLC charity, a charity that provide children’s teddy bears for Children’s A&E departments and £100 also to Wirral Society of the Blind and Partially Sighted.
“The money has been raised with the public’s support, our customers give a little and we give some of our profits, without the public supporting my shop we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.”
Graham Pink, Director of Place Commercial Management and Delivery at Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “I’d like to congratulate owners John and Peter who have raised thousands of pounds for local charities since opening their business in Ellesmere Port Market six years ago.
“Our Market is at the centre of the community, it is part of the Ellesmere Port Master Plan, helping to make sure the Port’s The Place.”
John Doyle added: “We’ve been trading now for over six years and loved every minute in Ellesmere port Market hall, we have met lots of lovely people and lots of elderly people who we have made friends with and built up some great relationships over the past years and this is our small way of giving something back to the people of Ellesmere Port and the surrounding area for supporting our local shop.”
Ellesmere Port market is managed by Cheshire West and Chester Council; it is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 8am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm (closed Wednesdays).
