Northwich Festival of Arts returning this July

23 May 2019

Creativity, colour and artistry will take centre stage in Northwich again this year when the Festival of Arts returns throughout July.

The Northwich Business Improvement District (BID), who are leading the festival along with support from Northwich Art Shop, Visual Arts Cheshire and Obeid Galleries, are currently finalising the line-up, timings and locations ahead of the month-long festival which celebrates the work of talented individuals, groups and organisations in the area.

Attendees can look forward to workshops and focused sessions across a range of artistic mediums including felting, poetry, watercolouring, mosaics, sketching, sculpting, singing and painting, while there will be a number of exhibitions running for the entire month.

Visual Arts Cheshire will be running a gallery in Barons Quay, Radiate Arts will be exhibiting workshop pieces in Obeid Galleries and Northwich Library will host a collection of art and artefacts to mark the 100th anniversary of Sir John Brunner's death and the impact he had on this area.

The festival also comprises a series of other events which are set to once again draw crowds into the town centre.

These start on Saturday 6 July with the Northwich Carnival which is then followed by Northwich Scooter Day on Sunday 7, the Northwich Artisan Market the Saturday after, the Northwich River Festival on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 and Northwich Art Shop's Grand Day Out on Saturday 27 July.

Northwich BID Manager Jane Hough is looking forward to the festival and believes there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout July.

"As with last year's festival we have tried to create a diverse and varied line-up of activities which will hopefully capture people's imaginations,” said Jane.

"Once again with this event we wanted to bring something new and exciting to Northwich which people might have never seen before and we’re confident that people will enjoy what's set to take place."

In due course the Northwich BID will release marketing materials for the event including an official guide. For more information about specific sessions taking place throughout the festival, head to the Visit Northwich website.
