26 November 2020

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s crematorium at Blacon has received high marks following an official inspection.

An inspector from the Federation of Burials and Cremation Authorities spent a day at the crematorium interviewing staff, checking records and reviewing facilities. The venue was awarded a score of 99 per cent, which is above the national industry average.

The Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Strategic Transport, Cllr Karen Shore said: “Protecting the safety of everyone involved in a funeral service can be challenging during the present circumstances. This result is a testament to the hard work of our team at Blacon crematorium and the excellent care and support they provide to bereaved families.

“We would also like to thank all those people who have attended a service at the crematorium for their ongoing co-operation in observing the rules and making it as safe as possible.”
