Temporary closure of Northwich Library for Installation of new technology | |
4 February 2019Northwich Library will be closed for two weeks at the end of February to allow for the installation of self-service technology.To make returning items quicker and easier for everyone during the closure issue dates will be extended and residents will be able to use neighbouring libraries. The library will be closed from 25 February to 9 March 2019; it will re-open at 9am on Monday 11 March and staff will be on hand to help customers with the new technology. During the closure additional works will take place including reconfiguration of the space, some shelving replacement, re-carpeting and minor re-decoration. The opening hours will be extended at Barnton, Sandiway and Weaverham Libraries so that they are open six days a week during those two weeks. In addition to usual opening hours:
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, Councillor Louise Gittins said: “Our new self-service technology will make it much quicker and easier to issue and return books and multimedia. “Having self-service means we can reduce the size of the counter and have more room for the public. “Self-service will enable staff to provide better customer service and there will always be a member of staff on duty if you need assistance and to help with queries and browsing for books.” For more information visit: www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/libraries.
